Mission & Outreach at Covenant

The church comes together for worship and nurture,
and then goes out to share the grace and mercy of God.

At Covenant, we support the following ministries with our time, talents, and money:

World Mission Worker Support

We support, with prayer and financial contributions, the work of two World Mission Worker Teams:

1) Bob & Kristi Rice as Christian Educator & Evangelist (PC(USA)) with the Presbyterian Community of the Congo in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. http://bobandkristi.blogspot.com

2) Jon & Kathy Christiansen who are support workers at the Karanda Mission Hospital in Zimbabwe (TEAM). http://www.teamworld.org

Good Samaritan Ministries®

Provides assistance to qualifying individuals with food, rent, utilities, eye glasses, transportation, heating fuel, prescriptions, and referrals to other agencies.

Interfaith Hospitality Network

Provides shelter and food for homeless families.

Habitat for Humanity

Brings families and communities in need together with volunteers and resources to build decent, affordable housing for low-income households.

Prison Ministry/Angel Tree

Ministers to children of incarcerated parents.

Melting Pot

Serves a hot lunch in downtown Johnson City for those who are homeless or indigent.

5 Cents a Meal

Supports projects locally and globally to alleviate hunger.

Grandfather Home for Children

An agency of the PCUSA that provides love, care and hope for children who have been abused or neglected.

Heifer Project

With gifts of livestock and training, Heifer help families improve their nutrition and generate income in sustainable ways.

Safe Passage

Provides shelter for battered women and their children.

Haven of Mercy

An emergency shelter and halfway house that provides housing and hot meals for the homeless.

Living Waters for the World

Builds and installs water purification systems.

PC(USA) Offerings

Joy Gift, Peacemaking, Pentecost, One Great Hour of Sharing.

Covenant also reaches out to the community with the use of our facilities:
